Brooks Health Center on the beautiful Campus of SC State University is looking to hire a certified Licensed Practical Nurse. Under general supervision of the Administrative/Clinical Director and/or professional nurse (RN), assist in the provision of health care services to a targeted population at South Carolina State University and outreach sites on/off campus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

➢ Perform and document quality and appropriate health assessment and nursing care to students and the university community.

➢ Provide age-appropriate health education and counseling to students (young adults and non-traditional), individually and/or in a group setting

➢ Perform and interpret basic laboratory tests, e.g. urinalysis, blood sugar, pregnancy, and other CLIA waive tests as well as participate in proficiency program.

➢ Ability to make assess and report appropriate medical and physical

➢ Document history, observation, etc., via electronic health record system

➢ Work with inter/intra agency resources to provide continuity of care/service.

➢ Provide appropriate follow-up as indicated.

➢ Work with staff to carry out established procedures and policies.

➢ Discusses patient's progress and needs with physicians and registered nurses; assists them with examinations and treatment.

➢ Communicates, cooperative and collaborates with staff and students

➢ Maintain student confidentiality

Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position:

Must have a license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the state of South Carolina with at least two (2) years of experience in medical/surgical, community, public, or clinical settings.

Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position:

Experience in a Higher Education setting.
