University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Licensed Practice Nurse, OP to join their UPMC Neurological Institute office in Monroeville, PA! This position will support our General Neurology practice to help provides personalized and comprehensive care for patients with a wide array of neurological disorders and is one of the nation's leading neurologic research and training programs.
The LPN will support the clinical practices of several General Neurologists, including provision of patient education, triaging patient medication and advice requests, and assisting with completion of medication refills and patient paperwork.
Hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with no evenings, weekends, or holidays! This position may require occasional travel to the Oakland office to support staffing needs, as needed.
Responsibilities:
Draw blood.
Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
Comply with all policies and procedures.
Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. One year clinical experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
