Full-Time Shift: Day Title: Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, LPN, LVN ORLANDO HEALTH JEWETT ORTHOPEDIC INSTITUTE Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute is one of the region's largest orthopedic and sports medicine practices, providing comprehensive care for more than 250,000 patients each year.

This August, the institute will open Florida's first dedicated orthopedic hospital, featuring 75 private inpatient rooms, 10 operating suites with four virtually connected suites that can be used to train surgeons around the world, and a state-of-the-art research and innovation center with a 10-station bio skills lab and 3D printer. In March, a new medical pavilion opened adjacent to the hospital and houses outpatient clinics, an imaging suite, physical therapy spaces and the largest orthopedic ambulatory surgery center in Florida. Expertise, technology and services come together under one roof and cover the whole spectrum of care - from prevention and diagnostics to therapeutic and surgical treatment options to physical therapy, rehabilitation and performance health.

Responsibilities Essential Functions Demonstrates competency in advanced practical nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit specific requisite skills.

Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient's condition to the RN and other members of the healthcare team.

Assists RN or provider during examinations and procedures. Documents patient data, and patient education according to Orlando Health and department specific guidelines Able to perform triage functions, including assessing the patient and determining next step in care, working in collaboration as directed by the department nursing team or provider(s). Appropriately administer oral and injectable medications or immunizations per LPN scope and as directed by a provider.

Maintains a safe and caring environment for both patient and family.

Assumes an active role in keeping informed about changes in hospital policy, procedure, and equipment. Participates in nursing PI activities as assigned.

Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on the assigned unit. Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures.

Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Qualifications Education/Training Nursing School Graduate Successful completion of a 30-hour approved IV therapy course within 30 days of hire for inpatient/SNF only.

Licensure/Certification Current nursing license in the State of Florida renewed every two years.

Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification. Experience None
