Job Summary and Qualifications
What will you do in this role:
Gives direct patient care based on knowledge of principles and practice of licensed practical nurse.
Assumes duties of medication nurse capably and with full knowledge of actions and untoward effects of medication being dispensed.
Participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient
Observes, records, and reports to the registered nurse the patient's symptoms, reactions and progress
Assists in patient education, rehabilitation, and maintenance of health
Collaborates with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the changes in patient status
Assists patients with all activities of daily living including but not limited to the bathing, positioning, range of motion, eliminating and ambulation
Functions as preceptor for new employees and students
What qualifications you will need:
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Current State of Indiana Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or active Compact State LPN/LVN license required
Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program required
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required
Demonstrated proficiency in basic nursing skills including phlebotomy
