Objective
The primary objective of this position is to provide nursing care in assigned areas in terms of individualized resident needs, according to dependent and independent nursing functions. The LPN will ensure quality resident care through recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the established standards under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Essential Functions

Facilitates and assures delivery of prescribed and over the counter medications in accordance with approved nursing techniques and practices.
Provides patient center support and medical services, evaluates/ assesses medical status of residents needed by such residents as specified in resident service plans or as required for health services under the direction of the Health and Wellness Administrator.
Responds promptly to care alarms and emergencies as needed when on duty or scheduled as "on-call".
Documents and follows up emergency and non-emergency Incident Reports.
Assists Residents with medical services such as the taking of temperature, blood pressure, pulse, weight and height measurements, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and to assess condition of resident when required.
Interfaces with the residents and PeaceCare Supervisor, the Resident Advocate and the Health and Wellness Administrator as required, offering insight on each resident case under consideration.
Explains procedures and services to residents to gain cooperation and understanding and alleviate apprehension when necessary.
Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of residents and addresses concerns.
Observes residents, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies the Health and Wellness Administrator and PeaceCare Supervisor of the resident's condition and/or reaction to drugs, services and significant incidents.
Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and PeaceCare protocol.
Ensures outstanding customer service in accordance with the mission of Peace Village.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma required.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license is required.
3 years of training or related experience required in the health service industry, preferably working in a retirement living community.
A current CPR Certification is required.
