Schedule will vary based on the needs of the department. Typical schedule will be Sunday through Thursday on first or second shift. Must be able to flex to 3rd shift occasionally if needed.

Job Summary

  • Workers' Compensation case management.

  • Working as liaison with the safety department.

  • Administering drug/alcohol tests as necessary.

  • Conducting pre-employment physicals and drug screens.

  • Coordinating and participating in various health and wellness programs.

  • Securing medical files and maintaining HIPAA compliance.

  • Providing first aid treatment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides nursing and emergency care according to written protocols

  • Monitors Workers Compensation claims for optimal outcome

  • Refers to physician or hospital for further medical treatment when needed

  • Performs required testing and calibrations for medical surveillance programs, such as Hearing Conservation and Respiratory Protection

  • Conducts walkthroughs in the plant to understand work processes and identify potential or existing hazards

  • Assists in employee wellness programs

  • Determines employee's fitness for duty by performing and reviewing physicals, return to work assessments, drug and alcohol testing, and vision testing

  • Documents all aspects of care in nurses' notes

  • Maintains confidentiality

  • Demonstrates workplace behavior consistent with company policies and values

  • Communicates job information to accomplish work tasks

  • Maintains good attendance as defined by company and/or department policy

  • Exercises personal safety on the job and demonstrates a commitment to the safety of others and our products

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years nursing experience

  • Current Tennessee LPN License CPR certified

  • Strong organization skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively

  • Customer service oriented

  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and handle frequent interruptions

  • Computer proficient
