What is Required?

  • Current LPN license as required by state

  • 1 year of experience in an acute care or equivalent setting

  • CPR certification with American Heart Association or America Red Cross

  • Positive attitude

  • Dedication to quality patient care

  • Strong communication skills

  • Reliable transportation to perform job duties

Our interdisciplinary team approach is a crucial part of our effective rehabilitation program. Our team of professionals understand a wide variety of multi-faceted, complex disabilities and each member contributes unique services to the rehabilitation process. Our work is devoted to assisting and educating our patients to become more independent, to improve their self-esteem and to improve functional ability. We are looking for dedicated healthcare professionals to help us achieve our vision.</p><p>Summa Rehab Hospital is seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses</p><ul><li>LPNs - to join our team!</li></ul><p>Full-time; non-exempt</p><p>Shift: 7:00 a.m.</p><ul><li>7:30 p.m.; every other weekend required; holiday rotation required</li></ul><p>PRN; non-exempt; 12 hour shifts from 7-7:30; PRN requirements: 2 shifts per 4 week schedule, to include one weekend shift; one hospital-observed holiday per year.</p><p>Position Summary</p><p>The LPN is responsible for clinical functions on the unit, including all aspects of patient care incorporating the nursing process in accordance with the applicable Nurse Practice Act. The staff LPN/LVN shall ensure that the unit to which assigned shall function in a smooth, organized, and efficient manner as directed by the Registered Nurse. The provision of care includes direct care along with the delegation and supervision of all nursing care. Specific components of the licensed practical/vocational nurse role include demonstrating clinical competence, managing patient care, improving quality of care, establishing professional relationships and utilizing professional skills, fulfilling responsibilities of the role of the hospital, and developing clinical expertise per specialty.</p><p>Minimum Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse in the state of employment required.</p></li><li><p>IV Certification required.</p></li><li><p>Current BLS certification from a Summa Rehab Hospital-approved vendor required.</p></li></ul><p>Additional Qualifications/Skills:</p><ul><li><p>One (1) year of clinical experience in a health care setting preferred.</p></li><li><p>Three (3) years medical/surgical experience preferred.</p></li><li><p>One (1) year of area specific experience preferred.</p></li><li><p>Ability to project a professional image.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.</p></li><li><p>Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.</p></li><li><p>Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.</p></li><li><p>Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.</p></li></ul><p>Per Federal Health Care Worker Vaccine Requirements, all employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or be approved for a valid religious or medical exemption. Anyone hired by the company must provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccine before they can begin employment or request and be approved for a valid religious or medical exemption. Unvaccinated employees on an approved exemption must submit to weekly COVID-19 testing and wear a respirator at all times while in the facility.
