Trinity Health Of New England is looking for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team of mission-driven healthcare caretakers at Johnson Memorial Hospital. The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for assisting while providing exceptional care to patients with a variety of behavioral health diagnoses and medical conditions.
Under the general direction of the Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care to all ages of patients. The LPN assists the Registered Nurse (RN) in the collection of data in accordance with the hospital, nursing philosophy, policies/procedures, and standards. The LPN provides direction to ancillary personnel and demonstrates commitment to nursing practice, along with accountability and growth to promote best patient outcomes and patient, family, and staff experiences. The LPN promotes a safe practice and care environment.
Full access to medications is given to the incumbent of this position as the job responsibilities include handling, preparing, and administering medications within the LPN scope of practice and job description.

You Will Be Responsible For:
Exceptional Patient Care: Contributes to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively.

Strong Educator: Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.
Technical Familiarity: Understanding in computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.
Active Teamwork: Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.
Education: Graduate from an accredited school or practical/vocational nursing
Licensure: Current Connecticut licensure
Certification: Current BLS certification required
Knowledge of current nursing, medical and health trends, and practices
Current enrollment in a RN Program preferred
Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks
