Responsibilities

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a newly opened (July, 2018) 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services.

In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the new facility will also offer services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women's trauma unit.

Licensed Practical Nurse will make a difference by delivering quality nursing care to psychiatric adult and adolescent individuals in care.

Licensed Practical Nurses are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:

  • Conducts ongoing and individualized nursing care duties as assigned and as dictated by the patient's condition in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.

  • Collaborates with other team members in the development, implementation, and evaluation of an individualized plan of care.

  • Performs treatments and therapies as ordered by physician in an appropriate and timely fashion.

  • Documents patient care, findings, and psychosocial responses to nursing interventions.

  • Documents PRN medications given, reason and effect.

  • Initiates emergency measures according to age appropriate CPR and client resuscitation protocols.

  • Participates in emergency crisis interventions according to age appropriate techniques.

You can become part of our elite team almost anywhere with 250 MedExpress centers across the country and two administrative offices in Morgantown, WV and Pittsburgh, PA. The Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, local traveler is responsible for ensuring the well-being of patients and for providing a positive, supportive environment while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, front office and clinical staff. The successful RN/LPN will have sound clinical acumen, strong communication skills and a dedication to customer service and patient care. The registered nurse or licensed practical nurse, local traveler will be expected to cover a predetermined number of centers based on geographic location. The local traveler will report directly to the Center Manager at an assigned "home" location, but will be available to travel to a designated local territory of other MedExpress Neighborhood Medical Centers. Primary Responsibilities: * Assess, screen, triage and perform treatment ordered for patients * Perform medical treatment as ordered by provider or established MedExpress standing orders * Prepare and assist provider with dispensing prescribed medications (in states where applicable) * Assists the provider with examinations, procedures and other duties * Oversee and coordinate the daily patient care flow * Assist patients as needed with walking, transfer, specimen collection, exam preparation, etc. * Complete occupational health testing including such services as urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, hair testing and physicals * Complete patient referrals and patient callbacks daily * Proper, concise and complete EMR documentation and/or paper based documentation for all assessments and procedures * Other duties as assigned such as new models of care and new types of procedures, etc. This role is center-based and requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. It requires the ability to stand and sit for hours at a time (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs. Hours may vary based on location, patient volume, and business needs. You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: * Current active licensure in state of residence * 2+ years dedicated clinical experience * Maintain BLS/CPR and CME/CEU's as applicable for licensure * Hold state required license and/or certification which allows placement of IVs or must be willing to obtain within 90 days if required by state (e.g. RN License; LPN + IV Certification) * Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained. * You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is an essential function of this role.
