Work Hours/Shift:

  • Full time; Rotating schedule, two days on, two days off (Monday-Friday 8am-8pm), alternate weekends (required to work every other weekend, hours are 8am-5pm on Saturdays and Sundays), and some holidays

  • Performs properly and legibly documents and reports all procedures and assessments in accordance with department policy.

  • Utilizing age-specific guidelines, assesses patient during clinical check-in, documents pertinent medical information and vital signs. Assesses for signs of abuse or neglect.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Graduate of accredited nursing program

  • Current Florida license as an LPN

  • CPR Certification

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Practice Manager and under the supervision of the Providers, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) cares for patients and performs a wide variety of patient care activities. Adheres to state, federal and organizational guidelines to ensure quality care and patient safety with support from the Clinical Excellence team. Is essential in maintaining organization and facilitating patient flow. Responsibilities The Medical Assistant 2 performs clinical duties such as discussing symptoms and gathering and inputting information into the electronic medical records system, taking vital signs, giving injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site. Collaborates closely with Physicians and Nurses. Delivers direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion. Required Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent GED * Active Medical Assistant Certificate as a Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or as a Registered Medical Assistant/RMA (Please note if you are currently not certified, we will require completion of Humana approved certification program within one year from hire date) * Experience in a fast pace/high volume environment * Experience with MS Outlook * Basic Computer knowledge * CPR certification * Must be a team player with excellent communication skills * Previous Phlebotomy experience * Willingness to learn and be cross trained in other roles based on business need * This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program.
