The Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) in the Northeast Region announces the availability of a Part Time In-House Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position working in Bedford Mass for the Northeast Residential Services.
They participate in the delivery of health care services to the group home residents as well as being responsible for the direct care needs of the residents as deemed appropriate per the Residential Services Supervisors and Registered Nurse.The LPN is a part of the staffing minimums. The LPN is supervised by the Registered Nurse (RN) for clinical duties and the Residential Supervisor and DSW II of Shift for home/resident related duties.
The incumbent delivers direct nursing service to the residents. Evaluates episodic health needs through nursing assessment and continuous observation. They respond effectively to resident emergencies. Relates information as appropriate and participates in the intervention process until resolution is achieved.They will dispense medications as requested using MAP
(Medication Administration Program) policies and procedures.
The LPN participates in the ISP process and implementation, attends team meetings and advocates for the residents and promotes dignity and respect. They participate in medical appointments and hospital ED ( Emergency Department) visits as indicated/ necessary.They maintain proper and timely documentation as assigned by supervisor (s). They conduct his/ herself in a professional demeanor and accepts supervision in a positive manner.
They provide direct care services as deemed appropriate toward the proper running of the home.They provide physical activity outlined in ISP and individual physical therapy programs as recommended and trained by Physical and Occupational Therapists. They will provide relevant health related training as assigned. They Accept other appropriate assignments by Nursing and Residential Supervisor.They will maintain all required certifications and LPN License.
A criminal background check (CORI) will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services prior to the candidate being hired. In addition, Chapter 234 of the Acts of 2014, An Act Requiring National Background Checks, requires the Department of Developmental Services to conduct fingerprint-based check of the state and national criminal history databases on the recommended candidate. All DDS employees are paid bi-weekly through Direct Deposit-salary ranges are for projected annual gross for 1 full year at current rates.
Part-Time 20 hours per week
Saturday and Sunday 7am-3:30pm, Friday 7am-11am
Days Off: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday
