CALL CENTER MEDICAL ASSISTANT-CERTIFIED: This position is responsible for taking incoming triage calls for IM/FP and Endocrinology departments, from internal and external customers, using the best practice smart sets.

Appropriately documents and routes call information to the GH offices and clinical staff. Assists with entering lab orders per protocol and communicating lab results per the direction of the physicians and the medical home model. Relays test results and/or documented information by the MD or clinical staff if the patient returns the call to the message center.

Schedules appointments/consults with the patient's PCP or specialist as necessary. Reviews the Epic chart to assist with patient questions, concerns and requests. Responsible for verifying Patient Heath Information to ensure compliance with HIPPA regulations.

Responsible for and must be knowledgeable in scheduling Internal Medicine and specialty appointments. Responsible for documenting confidential information in the patient's chart. Information must be accurate as this document can be litigated in a court of law.

Responsible for contacting the clinical resource staff in each center as necessary to assist with patient calls, requests, medical needs. Must be able to handle high call volumes as required in a call center environment and problem solve while systematically evaluating options in terms of consequences.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program Healthcare Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through AMT, NCCT, or NHA, or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Current, active RN or LPN licensure also acceptable.

EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years Call Center experience in a medical/physician, nursing home or urgent care setting.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Computer proficiency, typing 25-35 wpm.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFICS:

Current MA with experience and knowledge in ENT, surgery or medical office triage setting and usage of EMR. Primary task is triaging calls, scheduling appts and other tasks as assigned. Busy growing department with multiple providers . Experience in handling emergency situations.

Excellent triage, listening skills and accurate professional documentation skills.. Excellent professional communication skills with patients, providers and staff.

Punctual, excellent attendance, Engaged in serving our patients using ALWAYS behaviors for the best patient care and Outcome. Participates in a positive work environment and focuses on work tasks. Follows Trihealth policies.

Position is Monday

  • Friday between hours of 715-5p. Needs to address all calls in ques before leaving.

    May need to stay after 5pm to complete incoming calls. Willing to travel occasionally for training and attending meetings

DEPARTMENT SPECIFICS:Current MA with experience and knowledge in Endocrinology and using EMR. Prefer experience in running Endocrine provider and able to perform all tasks performed in dept. Tasks include working as a team to complete patient care, pre screening appts, teaching, gathering information,, downloading logs, prior auths, precerts, answering messages, addressing results, scheduling appts and tests, Primary task is triaging calls.

Busy department with 5 providers . Experience in handling emergency situations.
