Job Duties
Virginia operates 12 facilities: eight behavioral health facilities for adults, a training center, a psychiatric facility for children and adolescents, a medical center, and a center for behavioral rehabilitation. State facilities provide highly structured, intensive services for individuals with mental illness, intellectual disability or are in need of substance use disorder services.
DBHDS is looking for experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) at several of our healthcare facilities. Successful candidate must possess clinical knowledge of principles and practices of practical nursing, medication administration and developmental processes.
We are currently hiring LPN nurses at the following facilities:
Central State Hospital-Petersburg, Virginia
Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents-Staunton, Virginia
Eastern State Hospital-Williamsburg, Virginia
Hiram W. Davis Medical Center- Petersburg, Virginia
Piedmont Geriatric Center-Burkeville, Virginia
Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute- Danville, Virginia
Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation-Burkeville, Virginia
Western State Hospital-Staunton, Virginia
These roles come with a sign on bonus.
Evening/nights and holiday shift differentials offered for these roles.
$3.50- second shift during the week
$2.50- third shift during the week
$3.00 -first shift on weekends or holidays
$3.50- second shift on weekends or holidays
$4.00- third shift on weekends or holidays
Minimum Qualifications
Must have an active LPN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Ability to participate in interdisciplinary team. Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
Knowledge of illness and treatment modalities to include medication administration.
Additional Considerations
Previous behavioral healthcare experience will also be considered
