What You Will Do:

The LPN utilizes skills and knowledge to assist physicians and nurse practitioners in the clinical functions related to the medical office, ensuring that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times. Level of care is administered to patients of all age ranges with illnesses diseases or physical limitations.

What You Will Bring:

Education

High School Graduate (or equivalent) Graduate of a state accredited school of nursing

Experience

Experience in a medical office setting preferred.

Certification & Licensures

LPN Nursing License in the state in which your employed required

BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required


Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required required

  • New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

  • Must be currently licensed or eligible to practice pending licensure as an LPN in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Multi-State license or single state license is acceptable.

Qualifications

Must be flexible and adaptable to various working conditions and job demands. Must demonstrate patience, understanding and good communication skills. Must have ability to give attention to detail and to be resourceful. Must maintain a professional attitude and be accountable and sensitive to the needs of patients as well as internal and external customers. Knowledge of and ability to use basic office equipment, medical equipment and supplies necessary for daily duties Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills necessary for interaction with patients, visitors and staff. Multi-tasking skills necessary for performing day to day functions in a stressful, dynamic work environment. Appropriate attire required per policy. Must be able to function independently and as a team member. Candidates must be flexible, dependable and promote a professional image. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Knowledgeable in cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological states of human growth and development. Competent to provide assessment, care and treatment appropriate to the age group of the patients served.

What You Will Do: The home health nurse provides direct patient care in the patient's home environment as part of a multidisciplinary team including PT, OT, speech, social work and home health techs. The nurse will evaluate patients and use professional judgment to design the individualized plan of care which best meets the patient's needs. The nurse will provide direct, one-on-one patient care, and will also supervise care provided by aides. The home health agency relies heavily on technology; email is a primary means of communication and the nurse will use a laptop to complete documentation in an electronic record. The patient population varies widely across the spectrums of acuity, age, and diagnosis. The nurse works under the direction of a clinical team manager. Employment begins with a 6-10 week orientation with a seasoned preceptor to ensure that the clinician is well prepared when they begin treating on their own. Additional job duties include performance improvement opportunities, policy and procedure review and development, research, etc. Working in home health provides endless variety of setting, scenery, and clinical challenges, and provides a unique opportunity to enter and work within the real life environments of our patients, bringing meaningful change to their daily lives. Certification & Licensures LPN Nursing License required * BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required * Based on primary state of residency and in accordance with current Virginia Board of Nursing Regulations, must be licensed or eligible to practice pending licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia may have a Multi-State License, under the Nurse Licensure Compact. Licensure in the State of West Virginia as a Licensed Practical Nurse is also required within 3 month of hire. New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
