Cedar Rapids Comprehensive Treatment Center utilizes methadone and Subutex as part of their medication assisted treatment program to treat opioid addiction. This center is primarily focused on treating those who grapple with heroin, prescription pain medication, and morphine addictions. Our staff is comprised of nurses, counselors, and doctors who work hand-in-hand with patients. This partnership includes the administration and prescription of medications such as Subutex and methadone to help patients overcome withdrawal symptoms and cravings. In addition, Cedar Rapids Comprehensive Treatment Center supplies group and individual therapy.

VIEW JOBS Overview The Physician Office Laboratory Technician (POL) will perform clerical and moderate complexity testing in accordance with CLIA and/or CAP accreditation standards in the physician office setting. The POL is under the direction of the Outreach Manager and is responsible for promoting and practicing good laboratory practice during pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic processes specifically as defined by the laboratory Quality Management Program. Responsibilities * Follows the most current policy and procedures; brings policy and procedure discrepancies to the attention of the Outreach Manager. * Performs careful and accurate work during pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic processes in any assigned laboratory area. * Performs pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic processes within specified turnaround time. * Reports all concerns for safety, quality and/or compliance to management. * Assures that QC/QA guidelines are strictly adhered to before reporting patient results. * Participates in performing/documenting routine and non-routine maintenance. * Participates in problem resolution and instrument troubleshooting. * Documents accurately and legibly all necessary information in the performance of clerical and technical procedures, including QC. * Consistently demonstrates attention to detail in following protocol for patient, sample, and aliquot identification and labeling. * Execute technical practices in order to meet necessary standards, recommendations and requirements of voluntary and government agencies (e.g., CLIA or CAP). * Demonstrates knowledge of computer programs needed for work assignment. * Participates in training and education programs to meet developmental and maintenance needs. Maintains 12 CEU hours annually. * Makes good independent decisions based upon knowledge of overall functions, policies, and procedures. * Understands and adheres to all safety practices while performing duties to minimize any risk of injury and/or exposure to chemical and/or biohazardous materials. * Communicates and documents unusual circumstances or problems to the POL Lead and/or Outreach Manager as necessary. * Greets all customers, including patients, donors, physicians and other hospital personnel, with a pleasant and professional manner and appearance. * Prioritizes work appropriately and assists others as time and workload allows. * Promotes the development, preparation, implementation and attainment of departmental goals, policies and projects. * Communicates effectively within and outside work unit to members of the healthcare team and to patients/customers to provide accurate, timely information and to reduce problems or avoid near misses events. * Assists with new employee and student clinical instruction. * Assures adequate supplies are available and utilized in a cost effective manner. * Adheres to compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of a manager. * Purposefully conducts all aspects of the job in an ethical manner in support of Medlabs commitment to ethical behavior. * Performs other duties as assigned.
