We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team in Elmira, NY. This full-time, direct hire position offers a competitive salary range of $71,000 - $111,000, along with a $5,000 sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, and an excellent benefits package. As a Physical Therapist, you will plan and implement specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of Physical Therapy, collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Evaluation: Conduct patient interviews and evaluate physical conditions and needs.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement corrective exercise and treatment programs.
  • Equipment Management: Determine and adjust proper equipment usage for treatments such as exercise, gait training, soft tissue mobility, and more.
  • Patient Instruction: Educate patients on the use of wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetic devices.
  • Progress Monitoring: Recommend modifications to treatment plans based on patient progress.
  • Documentation: Prepare required documentation including evaluation results, treatment plans, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate observations and coordinate care with nursing and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Staff Guidance: Provide direction to staff members assisting in patient care.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain department policies and adhere to hospital safety protocols.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
  • Professional Development: Participate in educational programs, workshops, and mandatory training sessions.

Job Requirements:

  • Licensure: Must be licensed or eligible to obtain a license to practice physical therapy in NYS at the time of hire.
  • Experience: Hospital setting experience preferred.
  • CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire date.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift at least 30 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
  • Infection Control: Adherence to universal precautions during patient care.
