We are looking for a Licensed Optician to join our growing team. The Licensed Optician is responsible for selling, fitting and dispensing eyewear to customers.

What would you do? The Specifics

  • Meet or exceed NVI's sales and company objectives.

  • Achieve and maintain the highest level of customer service.

  • Accurately process orders for eyewear via the POS/SDS system.

  • Take optical measurement for patient eyewear as permitted by state law.

  • Coordinate the distribution of eyewear products to patients according to NVI guidelines.

  • Assist with dispensing eyeglasses and contact lens to patients, as permitted by state law.

  • Perform insertion and removal training of contact lenses to patients as directed by management and permitted by state law.

  • Contribute in the marketing of the store by passing out flyers, making PA announcements and participating in Business Builder events.

  • Complete inventory count and replenishe stock as necessary.

  • Maintain visual merchandising according to Brand and Company Standards.

  • Mentor potential Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.

RESPONSIBILITIES: * Obtain initial patient assessment by recording pertinent medical history and charts procedures for medical records. * Performs and records visual acuities, color vision, stereopsis test, auto refractometer readings and blood pressure as directed by physician. * Coordinate physician activities and facilitate patient and paper flow in the office. * Greet patients, handles questions during visits, triages phone calls and schedule appointments * Be able to multi-task and work independently with little to no supervision * Under physician direction assist with treatments and minor surgical procedures as needed. * Maintain medical records. * Complete patient billing. Complete and track referrals. * Work as a team member within Ophthalmology and with all other Polyclinic departments. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements Education: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Has successfully completed an apprenticeship program acquiring a state license and/or successfully finished a program through an accredited college. Certification/Licensure: Dispensing Optician License issued by the state of Washington required. Experience: Must be experienced in an eye care setting, has been fitting and dispensing glasses and contacts for a minimum of 1 year.
