Job Summary $5,000 Sign on Bonus for eligible new hires Mt. Ascutney Hospital#s Perioperative Services has an 8 bed Same Day Surgery unit, 2 Operating Rooms and 1 Procedure Room.
We are dedicated to providing care for adult patients needing Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Podiatry and Urology procedures. We are seeking an LNA who can function clinically as well as be a part of a multi-faceted team.# The LNA, under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, performs various patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for patients in Perioperative Services. Assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care duties.
FTE/Hours per pay period: 1.00 - 40 hrs/week Shift: Day Responsibilities Assists with routine patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, including, but not be limited to, cleaning and preparing rooms for patient care, performing ADL#s, obtaining clinical data, including vital signs, heights and weights, utilizing universal precautions, collecting specimens or performing point of care testing and recording results in medical record, etc. Assists in the transfer of patients to stretchers, beds, and/or operating room tables, and to/from various patient care areas, including discharge.
Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment by keeping the hallways clear of excess equipment, emptying linen bags when full, etc. Communicates pertinent patient information to appropriate clinical staff, screens and directs telephone calls to appropriate personnel, communicates detailed information to medical staff and families, and documents appropriately in the electronic health record. Cross trains to support other areas within Perioperative Services, including stocking/ordering of supplies and equipment, OR Housekeeping and Central Sterile Reprocessing.
Participates in continuing education, orientation, committees, and quality improvement activities. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications High school graduate required.
Computer literacy. Minimum of 1 year experience as LNA. Required Licensure/Certifications Licensed Nursing Assistant in the State of VT required. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.
