Position located at the Hancock County Community Health Center, located in Sneedville, Tennessee

East Tennessee State University, College of Nursing, is currently seeking a part-time (22.5 hours a week) Licensed Mental Health Professional (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) for our Northeast Tennessee Nurse-Family Partnership (NETNFP) Program. The NETNFP is part of the national Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program that provides vital support to first-time mothers by promoting and supporting healthy pregnancies and postnatal care by providing mothers with a personal nurse in the home during and after pregnancy.

The NFP program, funded by the TN Department of Health, has served nine (9) counties in Northeast Tennessee since 2017 including: Carter, Cocke, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington. The program is expanding in July 2024 to include (4) four additional counties: Claiborne, Grainger, Hamblen, and Jefferson.

Job duties include:

• Interacting with patients as part of the primary care team;

• Providing direct services to patients, families, and groups;

• Providing individual and family counseling and engaging in crisis intervention in a primary care setting;

• Working to address other social needs of patients and will utilize area referral sources for needed specialty care, hospitalization, or advance psychiatric assessments and treatments;

• Identifying opportunities for developing integrated Behavioral Health Services in the primary care setting and serving as a resource to the provider staff;

• experience working with an interdisciplinary team and the low-income population with a non-judgmental attitude;

• Able to complete brief intervention assessments

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job across various settings in the classroom, simulation, clinical, and/or community as required and/or needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position self and balance. The employee must occasionally move (including lift, carry, push, pull) up to 100 pounds or more. The employee must be able to perceive and respond to sounds and alarms; communicate effectively with others; be able to observe and monitor situations and details at close range in full and dimmed light. The employee may be required to move and/or stay in a stationary position in various settings for up to 12 hours at a time in addition to preparation and closure of a clinical shift. Rapid mobility may also be required on occasion. Physical expectations of an assigned clinical facility may vary and be subject to change.

Stress levels may be high due to frequently dealing with numerous students, patients, family members, and other healthcare providers. This position demands concentration and the ability to work in emotionally charged situations.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work and two years' experience in post licensure social work.

LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Master's or Doctoral Degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program

TN State Licensure

LMSW - Licensed Master Social Worker

Master's Degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program

TN State Licensure

LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor

Master's Degree in Counseling from a 60-credit degree program that includes a 500-hours practicum or internship

TN State Licensure

LMFT - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Master's or Doctoral Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related topic with equivalent coursework from a regionally accredited program that includes a supervised practicum/internship with at least 300 hours of experience

TN State Licensure

All levels must be eligible for credentialing with insurance companies throughout employment.
