POSITION/ SUMMARY:

The massage therapist will work closely with the Physical therapists, acupuncturist and chiropractor and be a part of the patient's medical treatment. This is a part-time position focusing on medical massage, starting at a couple days per week.

COMPETENCIES:

• Proficient in a variety of medical massage modalities (Active Release Technique, Sports Massage, Myofascial
• Knowledge of various orthopedic pathologies and surgeries
• Take SOAP notes as required by law
• Maintain a hygienic treatment room
• Massage for half hour or one hour (occasionally 90 mins are requested)
• Maintain insurance & be affiliated with a professional massage organization
• Follow HIPPA and sanitary guidelines
• Be available for off-site chair massage events

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Excellent people management, interpersonal and team working skills
• Ability to work within a diverse group of employees and personalities
• Help maintain a clean, courteous and professional working environment
• Present professional appearance and manner
• Make themselves available for last minute same-day bookings.
• Capability to massage at least 4-5 hours in a row

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Current NYS Massage Therapy License, Registration and Professional Liability Insurance
• 2+ experience in a clinical/pain management setting
