Description:

• Provides crisis intervention services in response to emotional and/or physical distress.

• Provides diagnostic evaluations to customers and referrals to Licensed Clinician for treatment

• Ensures adherence to infection control practices.

• Makes referrals to outside programs for medical and/or psychological intervention.

• Collects urine specimens for drug screening.

• Provides counseling services to mentally ill, alcohol dependent and/or homeless AIDS/HIV positive customers.

• Assesses customers in order to formulate treatment needs.

• Orients new patients to treatment program(s).

• Participates in treatment planning and individual and/or group counseling.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Masters degree in social work or related field with a license (LMSW, LADC, LMFT, LPC, LCSW or LPCA)

• Three years of experience related to working with homelessness, mental health or substance abuse

• Proficient in databases, MS Office, written reports and maintenance of case notes.

• Strong organization, motivational, time management and interpersonal skills.

• Must have the ability to facilitate groups and a strong background in counseling.

• Experience working with participants from diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds with the ability to interact and communicate effectively.

• Knowledge of Human Services, Criminal Justice, Court systems, substance use and target population(s) a must.
