AprilMay Company is a new age behavioral health provider. We provide facilitated-team based outpatient mental health services to treat and rehabilitate individuals with complex behavioral and/or social needs using the most advanced technology.

As a consultant with us, our in-house clinical team manages all the tedious work allowing you to focus on therapy. Our process is quite simple-you tell us the demographics that you would like to work with, we send you referrals based on your criteria and well manage your calendar and arrange appointments for you!

All services are provided in our office and we offer flexible schedules allowing you to serve clients in the afternoons, evenings and weekends. Candidate will be responsible for direct services and treatment interventions focusing on short-term stabilization goals for individuals with complex behaviors. The scope of therapeutic services include:

  • Screening and Diagnostic Assessment
  • Individual, Group and Family Counseling
  • Psycho-education
  • Parental Coaching

Requirements

Applicants must have prior experience in working directly with individuals with intense and complex emotional and behavioral needs.

Candidates must consent to background checks, complete required training, have a computer and smart phone.

*MUST BE CURRENTLY LICENSED IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (DC)* Candidates not licensed in DC, will not be considered, and need not apply.

VIEW JOBS 1/9/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-08T00:00 Responsible for social work practice under the supervision of a licensed independent clinical social worker, providing psychiatric and/or psychosocial assessments to children and adolescents who present in the Emergency Room and/or Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. Provides, under supervision, evaluation and assessment using DSM V criteria to determine risk and need for hospitalization and/or case disposition. Provides collaborative consultation to meet diagnostic and treatment needs. Obtains medical consultation from the psychiatrist on call to determine case disposition. Minimum Education Master's Degree Specific Requirements and Preferences Social Work (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge Excellent communication skills. Ability to relate to diverse patient populations. Time and attendance are vital for this position. Required Licenses and Certifications A minimum Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) Req LCSW or LICSW Pref Functional Accountabilities Diagnostic Assessment 1. Able to evaluate patient status including assessing for suicidality/homicidality in conjunction with attending physician 2. Completes social histories and psychosocial assessments for the medical record, on an ongoing basis. 3. Able to appropriately triage patient to correct services 4. Able to display competency when interviewing family members for the purpose of assessment and developing an intervention plan. Multidisciplinary Interventions 1. Educates staff about psychosocial issues impacting patient. 2. Participates in daily rounds for the purposes of treatment planning and discharge. 3. Is a liaison with CFSA social worker to determine additional needs of the children and families and plan for discharge. 4. Plans with the treatment team and utilization management staff the most appropriate discharge plan. Family Therapy 1. Utilizes a theoretical framework for the focus of the family intervention. 2. Able to encourage positive communication among family members 3. Recognizes progress and obstacles towards treatment goals and appropriately intervenes. Documentation 1. Completes required documents of the assessment in a clear, concise, and timely manner . Linkage Services /Case Management 1. Knowledgeable about community resources/ placements for children and families to assist in the attainment of treatment goals. 2. Communicate with outside agencies on the behalf of the patient to ensure continuity of care and treatment progress.
