The Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor I (LCPC I) in the Adult Services Clinic is a primary therapist to adult caregivers and families of children and adolescents currently treated at the Institute. The incumbent will primarily provide treatment and services to adults and caregivers. The adults seen in the Institute have a history of grief/loss, exposure to violence, various forms of trauma (in childhood or adulthood), their child's trauma, various forms of discrimination, and their own personal or caregiver stress. This staff member completes assessments, therapeutic interventions, and develop the diagnosis and treatment plans for adults. The incumbent may be involved in training, outreach, and research activities.

1.Provides psychotherapy services to adults and families including diagnosis and treatment through individual, group, or family therapy.2. Participates in individual supervision, clinic meetings, administrative staff meetings, and in-service training.3. Maintains client activity at the projected level set by the administrative staff.4. Maintains a medical record for each child to include a diagnostic interview, treatment plan, progress notes, periodic reviews, transfer and discharge summaries.5. May participate in the field instruction program and supervise trainees when interest and capacity is demonstrated; may participate in community activity related to the needs of traumatized children and their families; and/or committee projects.6. May also have other administrative and/or clinical care duties as assigned.
Must be licensed at the LCPC level by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
Must have a Master's degree in professional counseling or related field with a minimum of 60 graduate semester credit hours or 90 graduate quarter credit hours OR A doctoral degree with a minimum of 90 graduate semester credit hours or 135 graduate credit hours.
Minimum of 2 years of licensed clinical experience required.
Experience with evidence- based trauma informed treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure, PE is preferred.
Experience providing mental health services to an adult population, as well as families with children and adolescents with developmental, learning and/or emotional disabilities preferred.
Must have clinical practice experience with marginalized communities and people of color.
