CLASS DESCRIPTION
The Circuit Court for Baltimore City is seeking a Clinical Coordinator for the Circuit Court Mental Health Court. This forensic clinician will perform thorough clinical evaluations and coordinate community-based care for defendants involved in the criminal justice system who are assessed to have a psychiatric illness. Through the Medical Services Division of the Circuit Court, this position serves the Circuit Court judiciary, and specifically the Mental Health Court team, by providing clinical recommendations that may prevent/reduce incarceration and recidivism.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Use clinical knowledge and skills to conduct forensic psychiatric evaluations and risk assessments.
Formulate diagnostic impressions using the DSM-5-TR
Develop individualized, community-based treatment plans according to consumer need.
Assess the appropriateness of prescribed treatment interventions.
Provide verbal/written recommendations for treatment (or treatment enhancements) to the Mental Health Court and other stakeholders, as appropriate.
Offer clinical guidance to agents within the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (e.g., probation agent) regarding behavioral health disorders and their potential impact on consumer compliance, amenability, behavior, and communication.
Liaise with institutional and community providers regarding consumer behavior and treatment adherence.
Attend team meetings and court proceedings.
Oversee the Clinical Case Manager assigned to the Mental Health Court.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Have a master's degree from an accredited college or university.
AND
EXPERIENCE: Experience in clinical assessment, diagnostic formulation, and resource connection.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, AND CERTIFICATIONS: Active/current licensure by the State of Maryland Department of Health as an LCSW-C or LCPC.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Experience in clinical assessment, diagnostic formulation, and resource connection.
Excellent organizational skills and an ability to work independently.
Must be willing to work within correctional and judicial settings.
Ability to travel within Baltimore City limits.
Knowledge of virtual communication tools such as Zoom.
