Job Role Summary The Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) is responsible for the development and implementation of the individualized treatment plans for each client. The Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor is responsible for providing case management services as needed for the assigned clients and is responsible for maintaining a caseload and conducting individual, family, and group counseling as noted in the treatment plan.

The LCAC will provide assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic services for individuals, family, groups, including discharge planning. Associated Job Duties Formulate goals and objectives and develop and treatment plans. Treatment plans must be prepared in accordance with the Biopsychosocial assessment, ASAM criteria and the Initial Treatment Plan.

Review goals on an ongoing basis and make changes as needed with client involvement. Document all client contacts in the electronic medical record system, including progress notes, treatment plans, monthly reports, discharge summaries, and discharge plans. Present the client’s case with the multi-disciplinary team and initial staffing and updated treatment plans, assessments and discharge summary signed by the team.

Counsel’s individual clients in accordance with the goal developed in the treatment plan. Counsel’s families regarding addiction in accordance with the goals established in the treatment plan. Collaborates with other counselors as needed to ensure continuity of care.

Prepares and teaches educational classes as assigned. Prepare progress notes for each client and completes the group notes within 24 hours of the initial contact. All individual and family counseling progress notes are to be turned in at the end of the working day of the scheduled session.

Attend staff meetings, departmental meetings, seminars/conferences, and in-service meetings and training programs as scheduled. Completes monthly Peer Reviews as assigned by the Lead Counselor of designee. Maintains client confidentiality of all client information according to Federal, State, and The Salvation Army standards, policies, and procedures.

Maintains certification by meeting certification requirements. Facilitate client visitation per the Department of Child Services agreement. Documents client progress into the electronic medical record system and is responsible for updating level of care as needed.

Works assigned overtime hours as directed to ensure coverage of facility operations as approved by the supervisor or director. Conducts outside assessments for clients as assigned and Withdrawal Management within 48 hours of admission, as applicable. Qualifications Master’s degree in human services or social work or related field from an accredited University.

LCSW and/or LCAC (Preferred). Be in good standing in the State of Indiana with a minimum of 1- 2 years post-licensure experience in the substance abuse field. If not ICAADA certified, then must have within 12 months of employment. Must be willing to work at minimum (1) one evening per week and some weekends.

If in recovery, must demonstrate at minimum (2) two years of sobriety with evidence of emotional and social stability. Must have experience and/or working knowledge of the criminal justice and social service systems. Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish preferred.

Licenses/Certifications Required LCSW and/or LCAC (Preferred) Valid Indiana drivers’ license, access to transportation for in-county travel and ability to be classified as a “driver” per Health & Hospital Corporation guidelines. Must complete Safe from Harm training within the first (90) days of employment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Data collection completion and submission as directed (service/employment retention, program compliance documents, weekly activity/encounter reports, monthly follow-up reports, success stories, etc.) Training/Development Achieve certification as a provider of Moral Recognition Therapy (MRT) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) within six months of employment.
