Library Technician

Overview:

LAC Federal is looking for dedicated and detail-oriented Library Technicians to support our mission of providing exceptional library services. In this role, you will contribute to the organization, maintenance, and curation of collection materials in a dynamic environment, ensuring that information is accessible and well-preserved for our patrons.

Hybrid position - (2-3 days onsite; working hours 8:45am-5:15pm Monday-Friday)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the cataloging and classification of library materials
• Perform quality checks and maintenance on physical collections to ensure materials are in good condition
• Manage the organization and shelving of books and resources according to established library standards
• Support digitization efforts by preparing materials for scanning and maintaining accurate metadata
• Engage with patrons to assist with inquiries and promote library resources
• Collaborate with team members on special projects related to collection development and customer service

Requirements

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a library or information management environment
• Familiarity with integrated library systems (ILS) and cataloging practices
• Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and library patrons
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in all tasks
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with library work
• Experience with digital resources, scanning equipment, and basic computer applications a plus
