Middle School Librarian - 1.0 FTE (2024/2025 school year)

2024-2025 Salary Range: $46,813-$68,816 or current placement on salary schedule.  Benefits available.

Description: 

The successful candidate for this position will be a member of the middle school library team at both Sacajawea and Chief Joseph Middle Schools–0.5 FTE at both schools.

  The individual will share the responsibility for maintaining quality libraries that support student literacy in our schools.

  The role includes reviewing, purchasing, and maintaining a broad-based selection of literature and informational texts, coordinating and presenting classroom literacy and research instruction, encouraging and supporting well-rounded and meaningful reading habits, and collaborating with school staff to fully develop the reading, research, and technology skills of our students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade.  Additionally, the selected candidate will be expected to participate in a Professional Learning Community of his/her peers to further develop their own instructional strategies, the learning of students, and the effectiveness of each library.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a MT teaching certificate with a library endorsment or the ability to be certified by the start of the 2024-2025 school year.  Experience in middle schools is preferred.

Working Conditions:

This position is a part of our schools’ teams consisting of two teacher/librarians and a secretary.  The role includes management of the library, its resources, and the facility itself (library, classroom, and work area).
