Saudi Aramco is currently seeking a Library Media Specialist Teacher to work in the Saudi Aramco Expatriate Schools Division in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Aramco Expatriate Schools (SAES) is a well-established American curriculum school owned and operated by Saudi Aramco that opened its doors in 1944 as a one-room schoolhouse. Today, the district is comprised of six schools in four beautiful residential communities that enroll over 4,000 expatriate children who represent more than 80 nationalities.

Minimum Requirements Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or a Master's degree with specialization in appropriate subject/grade and hold a valid North American teaching certificate/license that reflects relevant endorsement(s).

A minimum of six years of full-time experience in a preK-12 school setting is required. Candidates must have worked full-time in an educational setting within the past three years.

Candidates must demonstrate an excellent command of oral and written English. Candidates must demonstrate successful capacity to work collaboratively, as well as independently.

Membership in professional organizations preferred. Duties & Responsibilities SAES Library Media Specialists work collaboratively to deliver an effective library media program utilizing adopted and approved materials and resources that will support district-wide literacy learning and development. SAES librarians will maintain systems and procedures for effective, ethical, and safe use of the library's online and physical resources, facilities, and collections.

Library Media Specialists adhere to their professional organization code of conduct and research based educational practice. In addition, Library Media Specialists are responsible for nurturing positive professional relationships and for working collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues to optimize the educational experience for the entire learning community. Library Media Specialists perform under the supervision of school principals and in frequent partnership with other educators, paraprofessionals, and parent volunteers.

Among other essential responsibilities, Library Media Specialists:

Design and deliver an effective library media program within SAES guidelines

Inspire patrons to read for pleasure and to explore literacy genres.

Collaborate with teachers to integrate information literacy into instruction.

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of content, pedagogy, and learning processes.

Deliver effective instruction to support SAES curriculum as needed.

Ensure effective operation and administration of library management system.

Maintain accurate records of library usage and inventories of equipment.

Exhibit and monitor safe, legal, and ethical use of media and information.

Develop and maintain a collection that supports the SAES curriculum and patron needs.

Uphold and enforce Company and School Board policies, administrative procedures, school rules and regulations

The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) is an iconic landmark building, a beacon for knowledge to illuminate, inspire, and catalyze the potential of the Kingdom's vast talent pool. Ithra is an all-purpose culture destination, and an environment for transformative experiences to unlock the power of potential through mastery in arts, science, literature and innovation. Facilities include an idea lab, library, theater, museum, energy exhibit, art gallery, children's museum, and a knowledge tower housed under one roof to provide visitors with an immersive and transformative experience. The Programs Division is responsible for planning and executing all of the King Abdulaziz Center's programs, including, but not limited to, the Museum programs, Theater and Performing Arts programs, as well as Idea Lab and the Outreach programs. In addition, it is responsible for the Library and other educational, scientific, and technological programs. The Idea Lab is the Center's creative component; it uses a project-based approach to engage its participants, stimulate creativity, foster innovation, and develop participants' skills in creative thinking, problem solving, teamwork, and entrepreneurship through mentorship and facilitation services that support them through the idea and concept development phases. Your role is to devise, manage, execute, and administer various programs for the Idea Lab. These programs may fall in any of the areas of art, design, education, creativity, innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, or a combination these areas. They may be programs on site at the Center or outreach programs locally and internationally. You must ensure the program is developed robustly, administered through a balance of in-house and outsourced resources, impact of enrichment is realized, and any financial and project management aspects of the program are dealt with. Minimum Requirements As the successful candidate you will hold a bachelor's degree in design, design management, creative arts, or equivalent fields. A master's degree is desirable. You should also have knowledge of design thinking, process, and problem solving You will have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the design and creative industries, creative arts, academic learning, and teaching or more broadly, project managing large projects with diverse communities and/or working with multidisciplinary industries. Duties & Responsibilities You will be required to perform the following: Develop strategies for programs that deliver on desired social impacts. Create scopes of work, contracts, and agreements to deliver these projects. Manage internal and external resources and contractors to deliver on the services required.
