Library Customer Service Assistant I

In this role you will perform library circulation work; assist library customers, prepare library materials, and return library materials to the proper location. You will also assist other customers and staff at circulation or information desks and may be assigned to retrieve materials.Here's what you can expect to do:Shelving books

Locating library materials for patron requests

Sorting, filing, and replacing library materials alphabetically and numerically using call numbers

Helping patrons log in to library computers and use the copy/fax/scan machines

Loading, unloading, and transporting materials on a book cart

Working with patrons to create patron library cards and records

Using library computer systems to check materials in and out, and perform catalog maintenance

Participating in branch team meetings
