Who We Are

Sumter County Library System drives connection and collaboration by providing library customers, resources, services, professional programming, and face to face support.

At the Sumter County Library System, you will have the opportunity to serve customers from both the leisure lifestyle of The Villages, FL and the Old Florida living of Sumter. The public library facilitates an atmosphere for all to receive inspiration and entertainment!

The primary responsibilities of the Library Associate 3 are conducted at the main public service point; the Circulation Desk. Library team members provide continuous customer service by creating library cards, checking out library books, movies, hot spots, and recreational supplies.

Shelving books, placing reservation holds on library resources, handling fines/fees, processing lost materials, and problem solving customer accounts are daily transactions. The Library Associate 3 team member participates in the facilitation and physical set up of library programs, tours and outreach events.

The library team succeeds in providing each customer a positive experience as we participate in in-person collaboration and the recognition of each other's attributes and achievements.
