The Regional One Health Extended Care Hospital is seeking a Liaison Nurse (RN).

JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Identifies patients appropriate for the Extended Care Hosptial and serves as primary liaison with managed care, commercial insurance carriers, and other third party payors. Provides orientation to interested parties as to the scope, capabilities and strengths of the Inpatient Rehab Unit.


Weekend Call is required

EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse school/program. Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population as specialty assignment dictates.


Three (3) or more years RN clinical experience is required.

Three (3) or more years RN experience in an Inpatient Rehabilitation setting preferred.

Case Management experience preferred.

Marketing experience preferred.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: Registered Nurse licensure to work in state of TN. Current CPR/BLS certifications required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Prolonged standing and walking; lifting, turning patients and equipment; repeated bending, squatting and stooping; exposure to infectious agents.

Ability to conduct rounds to nursing/patient care units required. Speaking, hearing and visual acuity is needed. Must be able to drive and attend community events, community based groups, hospitals, nursing homes and physician groups.

Is a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and currently licensed as a Register Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State. 2. Previous work experience in a long-term care setting. Supervisory experience and organizational skills in a long-term care setting preferred. 3. Is listed in good standing as confirmed on the State Department of Professional Credentialing. 4. Possesses excellent technical assessment and documentation skills, and leadership qualities. 5. Possesses good communication skills and is patient and self-disciplined. 6. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
