About L&I; and E-Government Strategy:

Here in the agency's E-Government division we want to support our agency's Goal 3 to make it easy to do business with L&I; by focusing on web based communications and online tools that are intuitive, provide value, and are a positive interaction.

Picture yourself as:

A senior level quality assurance/test analyst helping establish an automated testing strategy with our agency. As a critical member of a cross functional development team, you will be immersed in an autonomous environment. The team will be relying on you to write and develop test scenarios to assist in streamlining our development processes, speed up our deployments, reduce errors, and save on time and stress. Ultimately this position will be key in creating business transformation and making it easier for our customers to do business with us.

In the first six months you will:

  • Get up to speed in understanding the products you will be supporting, and L&I;'s development environment..

  • Begin converting manual tests to automated tests.

  • Have an in-depth understanding of business processes, services and functionality to analyze and map requirements for testable requirements

Some of what you will do:
1.Primary test resource for continued testing needs for products, responsible for ongoing development and execution of test cases, resolving complex issues, reporting and managing defects through closure, and coordinating business acceptance testing with the product manager and other business stakeholders.
2.Conduct analysis and development of test cases and scripts, execute test cases and record results, and manage defects through identification, reporting, regression and closure.
3.Utilize test tracking systems during validation phases of the software development cycle, managing a test case library, report identified risks and potential impact, use test automation software, etc
4.Integrate automated testing into the build process to help the team move toward continuous delivery.
5.Expand and hone test tool usage and expertise in use to build a broad test harness, expand testing knowledge and skills by pursuing opportunities for professional education and technical workshops.

You should apply If:

You possess four (4) years of information technology experience consulting, analyzing, or directing technical projects, providing customer or technical support in information technology.

AND

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications with a major technical subject area, such as computer science, software development, or engineering.

What we are looking for:

  • Two years of experience with various phases of testing and common test practices, including development and execution of automated tests

  • In depth familiarity with outward facing systems, procedures, and processes (L&I; specific is desired).

  • Two years of experience analyzing functional design, creating test cases, developing case scenarios and documenting and interpreting test results.

  • Experience with test tools and familiarity with test automation and scripting, as well as creating SQL scripts

  • Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM or other software development methodologies and practices.
