L&I's Insurance Services' Support Services is seeking an administrative professional to provide high-level customer service to the Program Manager.  This position also provides assistance to the Operations Manager, one Program Specialist 3, one Management Analyst 4 and 7 Program Support Supervisors.  Support Services has a biennial budget of $15 million and is staffed with 123 FTEs that provide key operational support to Claims Administration, as well as most other programs within Insurance Services.

Some of what you'll do:

  • Facilitates the work of the Program Manager, Operations Manager, PS3, MA4, section supervisors and staff members by coordinating or providing administrative assistance and services.

  • Maintains and creates content for Program SharePoint.

  • Orders equipment, supplies and awards for Support Services through E-Procure Plus and other approved sources and websites.

  • Schedules meetings and managing managers' calendars, establishes office procedures, standards, priorities and deadlines; serves as liaison for Program Manager.

  • Main point of contact for STARS requests for Support Services.

  • Prepares and maintains written, electronic and verbal communications; creates and updates management reports.

  • Coordinates, and tracks all equipment for staff to include but not limited to telework equipment, ergonomic requests, and facility requests.

  • Serves as the Point of Contact for Support Services for Public Records requests.

  • Delegated authority to order equipment and supplies for all program areas with Support Services

  • High school diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work which includes providing professional administrative support to a program manager; including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, monitoring emails, composing, editing, and proof reading letters; taking and composing meeting minutes, good grammar, spelling, and writing skills

Formal education will substitute year-for-year for work experience.

  • Proficient in office procedures; ability to effectively use various computer applications, i.e. Outlook, Word, SharePoint and strong Excel skills

  • Keyboarding or typing accurately at a net speed of 45 WPM

For this position, telework is dependent upon business needs and supervisor approval. The assigned duty station for this position is Tumwater, Washington.
