The Operational Trainer

  • Network Management will develop, implement, update, administer and evaluate the training process and material for both new and existing Provider Network Management staff. Conduct new hire and continuing education training to support the Provider Network Management in their contracting and provider set-up efforts.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday

  • Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am

  • 5:00:pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

  • All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain Provider Network Management instructional materials, demos, process flows and presentations.

  • Conduct new hire training for the Provider Network Management.

  • Develop and conduct departmental continuing education programs.

  • Evaluate training processes, tools and activities for effectiveness.

  • Monitor and report the effectiveness of training during the orientation period and for continued career development.

  • Research and present new training techniques and/or attend training classes/seminars.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

  • 2+ years demonstrated experience in designing/developing and implementing professional training materials and conducting training in a business/academic environment, preferably in a healthcare industry

  • Microsoft Word (ability to create, edit and save documents)

  • Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit and save spreadsheets)

  • Microsoft Powerpoint (ability to create a presentation)

  • Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree (or higher)

  • Experience with adult learning workshops and seminars

  • National Career Readiness Certificate

  • Military experience

  • MedNet proficiency

  • Healthcare experience preferred

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

  • Excellent communication skills in order to communicate ideas in a structured and logical manner both verbally and written
