Stanford Medicine's LGBTQ+ Health Program is seeking a Program Manager to drive operational excellence, community engagement, and educational initiatives to create the model for inclusive and affirming healthcare. The Program Manager will assist in the development of curriculum, training, and consultation projects across the enterprise. They will have a number of projects related to research, education, clinical care, and leadership for LGBTQ+ Health they manage. Lastly, this position will support employee and student efforts to improve LGBTQ+ individuals experiences at Stanford. The position will engage someone who enjoys a wide breadth of different focus areas, networking with a large passionate community, and leading initiatives from concept to implementation that are rewarding for their positive impact.

This position requires prior experience with LGBTQ+ health curriculum and training development and the capacity to create content appropriate for various audience levels, from trainees to faculty, to the healthcare workforce. A successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their ability to manage large-scale projects across a complex multi-disciplinary decentralized institution. They will have a reputation for their outstanding attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, superb follow-though to ensure that projects are completed, and outstanding organizational skills. The desired candidate will be a valued member of a team who is able to work independently, liaise with partners internal and external to Stanford, and work within an academic community-engaged research context. It is critical the candidate has the ability to demonstrate their knowledge of LGBTQ+ healthcare needs, relay successful models of delivery, and communicate a strategy to implement. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be inspired by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology's mission to improve women and people of all genders health through innovative and compassionate care, education, advocacy and discovery.

Duties include:

  • Develop and manage research programs by conducting research activities, including outreach to varied stakeholders within the program, assigning resources and making program improvement recommendations that impact policies and programs.

  • Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for new research.

  • Source, collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.

  • Teach and/or assist in the teaching and administration of courses. Develop curriculum. Develop curriculum-rating survey, detailed feedback on courses and make recommendations for preliminary overview and changes.

  • Write and/or edit complex content for proposals, research grants, peer-reviewed publications, and other program activities.

  • Contribute to and inform on strategic program/entity planning and related funding and financial sustainability.

  • May advise students and/or coach/mentor clients. Write and/or edit complex content for proposals, research grants, peer-reviewed publications, and other program activities.

  • Develop or contribute to outreach strategy related to program communications, development, partnerships, and fundraising/funding.

  • Coach and mentor program staff.

    • Other duties may also be assigned.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Comfort and confidence in public speaking and training large groups of varied sponsors from all levels of Stanford Medicine community.

  • Experience engaging and building rapport with leaders across a de-centralized institution.

  • Experience working within an academic medical college.

  • Experience with development of curriculum, and assessment of training outcomes.

  • Multi-lingual health education experience.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelor's degree and three or more years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs. For jobs with financial responsibilities, experience managing a budget and developing financial plans.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.

  • Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.

  • Ability to oversee and direct staff.

  • Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

  • For teaching jobs, advanced degree or certification may be required for some programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks.

  • Occasionally use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.

  • Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.

  • Ability to use voice to present information/communicate with others.

  • On-campus mobility.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May work extended hours, evenings or weekends.

The expected pay range for this position is $94,000 to $139,000 per annum.

Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
