Business Overview:

Global Credit Markets Americas (GCM) bridges Global Markets and Global Banking. GCM integrates all primary origination, financing & syndication and secondary sales, trading & research activities across all CIB credit products into one platform. GCM provides debt origination, structuring & execution to our Americas clients via 3 core business lines: Asset Finance, High Grade Finance and Leveraged Finance. GCM maintains a client-centric approach by working closely with Coverage, Global Markets and Advisory as well as supporting BOW commercial clients on specific product needs. GCM will drive synergies between Global Banking and Global Markets from origination to distribution making BNP a more effective solutions provider to our clients.

Lev Fin is looking for an Associate to join our origination team.

Responsibilities:

The Lev Finance Associate will be exposed to a broad range of modeling, securitization, and market analysis. The Associate will also have access to all senior managers of the team with full visibility of the team's span of business activities. The role will be a closely mentored apprenticeship with the objective of developing into a well-rounded team contributor over the long term.

  • Assist in structuring, analyzing and execution of Lev Fin securitizations.

  • Support the team in drafting and preparing pitch books, marketing materials and investor presentations.

  • Coordinate with internal and external parties for the Lev Fin process (internal management, general counsel, compliance, risk management, underwriters, and rating agencies).

  • Build financial models to help analyze and interpret the impact of various debt funding strategies while working in the context of the broader corporate model.

  • Develop financial models, valuation assessments and transaction/company comparables. Prepare documents for the relevant committees (FICC, Credit etc.) for approval of mandates.

  • Analyze detailed corporate and financial information, assist in conducting due diligence processes.

  • Prepare weekly market updates / tombstones / deal tracking / credentials.

  • Regulatory and compliance tasks (KYC, pitch book logs etc.).

  • Other ad hoc projects as determined by the needs of the desk.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA in business, finance, accounting, economics or similar technical field; MBA a plus.
  • 3-5 years working experience in investment banking / Lev Fin.

  • Proficiency in MS Office: Excel and PowerPoint in particular.

  • Excellent inter-personal skills: Ability to engage in concise, effective discussions.

  • Ability to assimilate new information quickly and excellent conceptual analytical skills.

  • Ability to work on multiple processes at same time utilizing effective time management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and gather information quickly.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Basic understanding of financial markets and Global Credit Markets.

  • Basic understanding of credit and company capital structures.

  • Basic understanding of risk management, regulatory concerns and other levers integral to closing of a transaction.

Purpose of the role * Man GLG is an active manager of US credit funds, including CLOs, long-only bond funds and alternative credit funds. Man GLG focusses on delivering strong investment performance with attractive risk-adjusted returns for its clients, supported by rigorous credit analysis. * The Credit Analyst will join a team focused on the US Leverage Loan and High Yield Bond markets. The team assists Portfolio Managers across the different pools of credit funds in making investments decisions. Responsibilities include carrying out qualitative & quantitative analysis of potential primary & secondary investment opportunities (supported by full financial models and detailed credit papers) and helping monitor investment portfolios of corporate credit securities (including coverage financial results & responding to newsflow). * The Credit Analyst will be an active member of the investment team, working alongside senior professionals on the trading floor with opportunity to contribute throughout the investment cycle.
