Working with internal staff and vendors, designs, develops, integrates and manages server infrastructure technologies supporting access needs of the organization while achieving operating efficiency, network security and integrity.

Essential Job Duties

  • Administers server operating systems, manages Active Directory domains and group policies.

  • Technical expertise with installation, configuration, and daily maintenance of infrastructure and enterprise technologies (backup solutions such as NetBackup, VMWare VDP, and enterprise hypervisor technology such as VMWare/Hyper-V/KVM)

  • Install, configure and maintain Storage Area Networks.

  • Install, provide configuration management and troubleshoot server software and hardware

  • Assist in providing network security, back up and restoration of user files and systems.

  • Assist in disaster recovery practice and planning.

  • Experience and understanding of hardware and software standards for networking.

  • Experience and understanding of local/wide area networking and distributed systems administration in remote locations.

  • Documents standards, procedures, and working instructions.

  • Installs server operating system, software updates and perform system backup.

  • Install and upgrade network operating system and network based applications.

  • Acts as a project lead for complex server/network projects that require a higher level of expertise.

  • Responsible for managing server hardware and software infrastructure to meet performance standards for availability.

  • Trains other IT Services employees on maintaining and supporting Cadence Bank's hardware and software.

  • Monitors network/systems performance and makes recommendations for improvements when required.

  • Experience with PowerShell and scripting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School degree or equivalent (GED)

  • 5+ Years of experience as a System Administrator

  • A+ Certification or equivalent experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products and operating systems

  • Working knowledge of Symantec NetBackup systems

  • Working knowledge of VMWare systems

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to relate well with others and build effective business relationships.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with others and explain technical system functions and architecture.

  • ITIL or other best practice methodology a plus.

  • Ability to work flexible hours.

The BWR Fuel Engineering team is also responsible for fuel performance evaluations and spent fuel characterization and certification for long term dry storage. In 2018, the Southern Nuclear BWR Fuel Engineering department, in collaboration with industry partners, lead the industry with the first deployment of fueled enhanced accident tolerant lead test assemblies into a commercial nuclear power plant in the world. This effort culminated in a 2018 Nuclear Energy Institute's Top Innovative Practice Award for this team. The BWR Fuel Engineering team offers outstanding opportunities for innovation in the realm of nuclear fuel and core design. Additionally, in 2018, the Southern Nuclear BWR Fuel Engineering department completed an effort to bring the performance of core reload design and licensing analyses utilizing fuel supplier methods "in-house." This permits an unprecedented level of utility ownership and technical depth in the areas of core design and reload licensing and is an excellent development opportunity for individual professional growth. This challenging and rewarding position will be responsible for delivering engineering products for activities related to nuclear fuel and core design, licensing and operation, transient and accident analyses, and technical evaluations regarding BWR nuclear fuel and advanced nuclear fuel innovations. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education : * A minimum of a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Engineering or Physics from an ABET accredited institution is required. * An advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field with specialties in nuclear fuel analysis is desired. * Degree(s) in Nuclear Engineering is preferred, but not required. Experience : The following experience is required: * This is an entry level position. Experience related to nuclear fuel or reactor core analysis or research will be considered. 2019 graduates will be considered. * One (1) to three (3) years of experience performing engineering calculations to support nuclear fuel or reactor physics analyses is highly preferred. The following experiences are preferred: * Cooperative education, internship, or professional practice experience in the fields of reactor physics, reactor engineering, nuclear fuel engineering, or nuclear methods is highly preferred. * Experience with applications of BWR reactor physics * Experience with GE-Hitachi (GEH)/Global Nuclear Fuel (GNF) nuclear methods * Experience with CASMO/SIMULATE methods Knowledge and Skills : * Strong technical writing skills are required. * A high level of communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required. * A high level of programming and software development skills is desired. * Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex projects with multiple work phases are required. * Ability to comprehend complex reactor physics/design problems and provide solutions is required.
