The Level 3 System Administrator shall provide Tier 3 support for the virtual environment, consisting of cluster management, solution engineering and assistance. The Level 3 System Administrator shall also provide Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop support for applications including Active Directory, Microsoft O365, SCCM, WSUS, Symantec Backup Exec, Endpoint Protection and Mail Security.
Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements.
Deal with escalation issues from the Help Desk involving servers.
Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
Conducts routine hardware and software audits of virtual hosts and virtual servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
Implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of systems.
Education and Certifications
The Systems Administrator - shall meet one or more of the following requirements. Validatek does not expect a single individual to be knowledgeable in all areas:

BS/BA in related field preferred
ITIL v3 Foundations Certification Preferred
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) 5.5 or 6.0
Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent
Significant experience in using Microsoft SCCM
Clearance (minimum Public Trust)
Knowledge and Experience
Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory to include implementation of GPOs to support the implementation of STIG settings on Windows servers\desktops, to include file and print services, DNS, Domain Controllers, application servers, and other Windows systems.
Experience with Windows migrations and Active Directory upgrades.
Managing Windows systems, including Windows 10, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016, to include 2012/2016 STIG deployment.
Building, configuring, and managing Microsoft Windows servers in multi-tenant enterprise environments.
Experience with installing and configuring Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 R2 and/or 2016.
Experience with Enterprise Backup software.
Harden Windows operating systems to STIG compliance.
Experience managing Microsoft Clustering Services
Experience managing Active Directory architecture and replication in a multi domain environment.
Experience with Active Directory design.
Experience with large scale datacenter design and operations.
Experience working with virtual infrastructure (i.e. VMWare) required.
Experience utilizing PowerShell to manage systems and automate common functions.
Experience migrating large infrastructures from physical to virtual environments.
Experience/awareness of SCCM methodologies.
Experience with Office 365 experience.
