Based in Irvine, CA, we are searching for a Level 2 Support Engineer. This is a full-time position that includes acompetitivesalary, full benefits, and great working environment.
  • Document internal processes understand the Companys current server configuration
  • Contribute to the development and publication of tips/how-to documents for end users
  • Provide updated monthly metrics for various processes such as ticket volume, types of issues, customer service delivery key performance indicators, laptops issued and their location, charge codes, etc.
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 onsite and remote support for approximately 200 employees, onsite and nationwide for Windows OS, applications, mobile devices, desktops, laptops, printers, and wired/wireless network connections
  • Create, update, and terminate user accounts in Active Directory
  • Respond, appropriately document, resolve and close internal help requests, use a ticketing system
  • Image desktops/laptops for deployment to end users, deploy hardware/software, and maintain inventory on site in a clean, temperature-controlled warehouse environment
  • Bachelors Degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or comparable discipline and 2 years of industry experience or 4 years IT industry experience, in lieu of a degree
  • Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2016 / Office 365 and Network printers
  • Experience with Active Directory, Local Area Networks and IP Addressing; knowledge of iOS and Android Mac OSX
  • Willing to work after-hours and weekends and travel to off-site locations, training, and events
  • Strong customer service and communication skills

VIEW JOBS 1/13/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-13T00:00 POSITION PURPOSE: The UCOS business unit develops control system software and solutions for energy, infrastructure and manufacturing. As a service engineer for control systems, it is expected that you understand electrical, mechanical and chemical processes but with special focus on the instrumentation of the system and how that information is used to control the process. You will work with the internal software development and engineering teams as well as engineers focusing on quality and testing. Service areas span from phone support, logic programming, system troubleshooting to lecturing, obsolescence management and customer account management. Direct involvement in delivering Surface engineering projects is expected. POSITION DUTIES: * Support the customer remotely or in the onshore or offshore field * Be a part of phone rotation and the customer help desk * Support projects in engineering, test and commissioning phase * Support in testing of new features in software and hardware * Act as the customer for software development projects * Act as the main contact point for selected customers * Act as the main contact point for selected UCOS applications * Execute engineering projects for the Surface market * Establish project schedules, lead project and interface meetings * Other duties, as assigned. ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: * BSc with minimum 4-6 years' experience or MSc in Electrical or Mechanical * Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with control systems; instrumentation, network, operation and configuration * Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with computer operative systems and industrialized computer hardware * U.S. work authorization, without need for company sponsorship * Working knowledge of the oil & gas industry * Working knowledge concerning the available types of, and the application of control system instrumentation * Knowledge in operation of DCS and SCADA systems and the corresponding interfaces such as Modbus and OPC * Experience with specification, detailed design, qualification, testing and maintenance of control system products * Comfortable explaining complex technical situations on the phone, face to face or in meetings * Good oral and written communication skills WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Domestic and international travel to customer sites is required * Participation in the 24/7 phone service rotation * Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, listen and speak for long periods of time * Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, and lift * Wear steel toe shoes, safety glasses and other personal protective equipment as needed * Ability to lift up to 40 pounds * Frequent use of PC * Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such a viewing computer screens and reading Technipfmc Irvine CA
