Responsible for collecting past due delinquent accounts, while treating customer with professionalism, following all Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, state, local and bank policies. Performs a variety of collection and credit related duties which may be complex and confidential in nature. Requires the use of tact, good judgment and limited discretion, while collecting and processing customer information for delinquent consumer loans. Assignments require a working knowledge of procedures that must be followed to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and legislative demands. Provides support to collection process in the resolution of delinquency loans for assigned products. Must be capable of working independently; investigating problems and ensuring assigned duties are completed accurately and timely.
Responsible for collection of all consumer products that are 1-90 days delinquent, including mortgages, automobile loans, unsecured loans, home equity lines of credit, and various other bank products.
Reduces the level of delinquency in assignment by application of collection techniques to cure delinquency on accounts.
Works with customers to find effective solutions to obstacles that are preventing them from staying on track with their obligation
Prepares communication to customers within Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and other regulatory guidelines.
Increases the collection departments' efficiency by improving collection efforts early within collection cycle.
Locates and validates customer contact information through Lexis/Nexis, credit report, basic skip tracing, mail and/or local office support.
Navigation of collection system to thoroughly document customers' accounts and update required information on the reason for default, plan for curing delinquency, ability to pay, update on collateral and any other additional information obtained learned.
Identifies loan relationships that are uncollectable and with approval transfer to Special Assets within the banks designated time frames.
Must meet weekly/monthly productivity goals.
Identifies reasons why an account must be downgraded and assigns appropriate risk rating and accrual status on assets.
Uses effective negotiation and communication (verbal & listening) skills to cure account.
Assembles and analyzes information, maintains files and other paper and/or electronic data securely, accurately and efficiently. Monitors and tracks specific data as assigned / required.
Performs all other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
Lending Collection Specialist II
Major Accountabilities/Essential Duties:
In addition to the all duties listed above:
Responsible for collection of business loans 1-60 days delinquent up to $500K
Assists with modification process for consumer products, sends solicitation packages to customer, reviews for completeness and cures any deficiencies. Submits to Financial Analyst for further review.
Acts as liaison between customer and business partners through final stages of modification.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years related experience required in: collections (mortgage, consumer, or other consumer products), accounting, banking, commercial or other related lending experience.
