The Lending Assistant provides administrative support to loan officers. The key function for this position is to have a strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task. You should be a self-starter, highly motivated, passionate, reliable, and a hard worker. You should be able to work with limited supervision but want to be part of a high-achieving team.
To be successful as our Lending Assistant, you will need to possess overall banking knowledge (or have a desire to learn), ability to interact well with internal teams and external customers, be solution and customer focused, and have strong organizational skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Loan Officer in creating, analyzing, and understanding financial spreads, collateral, customer background, and risk to create the underwriting used in approving new loan deals.
Create new loan files in an orderly and consistent fashion
Maintain loan checklist for new loans and verify that all documentation is collected and that information within the operating system is correct
Maintain and audit loan files, insurance and exception tracking
Maintain customer relationships
Coordinate and work closely with the Loan Department to follow through with new loan funding by providing necessary documentation
Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Banking, mortgage, or work experience in a professional office environment
Superior customer service skills
Take ownership of assigned duties
Superior communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's degree with focus in business, finance, or other related field.
Prior lending experience
Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Working in a team environment with problem solving thinking
