This position supports the Legal Department in the areas of Legal Systems and Processes.
Responsibilities may include:
Design, architect and develop customizations to the Legal systems application processes and workflows that integrate with internal and external systems in order to optimize and automate Legal work processes.
Consult with Legal Management, Attorney Work Teams and other Legal Teams to understand business needs in order to effectively design and develop functional specifications and report requirements for data stored in the Legal systems.
Analyze complex issues that do not follow the current standard Legal Business processes that depend on various Legal systems and identify solutions.
Coordinate Legal Department Information Systems projects that address the needs of the department.
Review and analyze current Litigation systems processes to determine process gaps and obstructions in order to identify and present new process solutions and/or improvements to the Litigation Services Management team members.
Consult with Legal and IT teams regarding various integrations between Legal Systems in order to plan and manage exchange of data between Legal and Corporate systems.
Facilitating training of legal staff on use of Legal Information Systems and department processes, including the creation of all training materials.
Assists in the support and use of ConocoPhillips Legal Information Systems including Matter Management, IP Docketing, Corporate Secretary, Entity Management, Legal Hold Orders and Records Center.
Monitors corporate system changes and coordinates with other IT teams to minimize and/or prevent unplanned downtime/outage to Legal systems.
Serve as project lead with respect to identifying and planning project resources, timelines and teams to accomplish objectives.
Partnering with IT analysts to support Legal applications, serving as primary liaison for most departmental application and system needs.
Assist with evaluating current industry solutions to include end-user/systems requirements, solution costs and efficiencies.
Developing and implementing processes for sustainable results consistent with project objectives and Legal Department initiatives, including solution design and identification of software tools/resources to best respond to the needs of the Dept.
Provide ongoing administration and support of the Legal Systems including:
Application database support and business-related fixes
Operational and system integration support issues
Application and database refreshes
Upgrades and Package Deployment/Corporate Support
Liaison for internal and external system support (vendor relations)
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as permanent resident, refugee or asylee
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, information technology, finance, accounting, related information technology discipline or other related technical discipline or foreign equivalent
10+ years of experience in an information technology/computer related field
3+ years of experience with Legal systems and application databases
Strong knowledge of Legal Systems, including Document Management, Matter/Spend Management, Entity Management, Legal Hold, Document Comparison
Proven Project Management skills
Handles tasks to effectively and efficiently complete work responsibilities in a timely manner
Exercises discretion and judgment, and works with minimal or no supervision
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS SQL, PowerShell, HTML, Crystal Reports, MS PowerBI, MS SSRS
Takes ownership of actions and follows through on dedications by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
