Are you someone who is excited about technology and looking for new challenges in an innovative company? Microsoft is looking for an outstanding paralegal who can think creatively and analytically, and who can work with Microsoft Corporate, External & Legal Affairs (CELA) attorneys supporting Microsofts U.S. Public Sector (USPS) business. This role will be based in Chevy Chase, Maryland or Reston, Virginia, although other locations may be considered.

Responsibilities Key responsibilities

  • Assist lawyers in reviewing RFI/RFPs and negotiating contacts for desktop licensing, cloud services and professional services

  • Provide front-line support for vender questionnaires, reps and certs, gifts and gratuitous services, non-disclosure agreements, and similar matters

  • Create and manage a SharePoint site of key documents for the USPS CELA team

  • Act as initial point of contact for client intake and direct clients to appropriate resources

  • Perform legal research and tracklaw/policy/regulatory changes affecting the USPS business

  • Support development and delivery of compliance training

  • Track USPS CELA engagement in policy outreach

  • Drive greater internal efficiencies by identifying opportunities to improve processes, tools, and resources

Qualifications Minimum qualifications + 5+years of experience as a transactional paralegal, project manager or similar role in a legal department of a large corporation. law firm, or government agency

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, government procurement Federal, State, and Local

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointIdeal experience

  • Government procurement experience with a large government agency or contractor

  • Program management experience involving large transactions or complex processes Desired personal attributes

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Confidence and ability to quickly identify, analyze and develop creative and smart solutions to address difficult problems and challenges

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment and to partner with the business effectively, working with multiple stakeholders across disciplines

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt and respond to the demands of changing situations and timelines
