A South Bay boutique law firm with four attorneys is looking to ad an experienced Litigation Secretary to their time. The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of litigation experience.
The candidate will support two attorneys in this full-time position. This position offers relatively flexible hours as long as the candidate works 40 hours a week and offers competitive compensation. The firms pays for 100% of employer benefits and they have GREAT holiday and vacation time.
Duties Include: 1. Electronically file client and administrative ?paper?; 2. Prepare from scratch and edit Power Points, Excel spreadsheets and Word documents; take online advanced training courses in PowerPoint and Excel; 3.
Open new client matters; 4. Calendaring; 5. Enter hourly time records; 6.
Review and catalogue administrative and client documents and numbers; 7. Photocopy, fax, scan/image and recycle/shred confidential documents; 8. Maintain office supplies and anticipate and maintain proper inventories of supplies on hand; check inventory weekly; 9.
Answer phones, greet clients, accept deliveries and mail processing; 10. Produce and file various legal documents such as appeals, motions or petitions; 11. Preserve an updated case record system; 12.
Answer phone calls, take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriate; 13. Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminders; 14. Knowledge of constitution, legal terminology, regulations and court system; 15.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, dictaphone, etc); 16. Working knowledge of litigation management software systems is a plus; 17. Support lawyer and staff general secretarial needs, including travel arrangements.
