Seeking a full-time Legal Resource Assistant for an on-site role.

  • Preparing, editing, and proofreading legal documents.
  • Assisting with all aspects of trials, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, client meetings and case strategy meetings; organizing trial exhibits, notebooks, charts, graphs, memorandums, and other legal documents as well as other visual aids.
  • Filing documents in State, Federal and Appellate courts.
  • Diligently and efficiently managing attorneys Outlook calendars. Arranging video conferences using Zoom, WebEx and Microsoft Team as well as conference calls and meetings.
  • Organizing, routing and archiving incoming mail and case filings.
  • Entering, processing and tracking expense reports and vendor invoices.
  • Review, edit and finalize firm invoices to clients.
  • Coordinating and scheduling attorney travel.
  • Maintaining an awareness of attorneys' caseloads and statuses.
  • Establishing and maintaining attorneys' professional and case files.


  • A minimum of a high school diploma, with a bachelors or two-year degree preferred.
  • 5+ years legal experience.
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong skills in MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook, various databases and Internet research skills.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, as necessary.

Description If you are selected as the Legal Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for providing and coordinating administrative support to a Deputy General Counsel, an assigned team of Legal Managers and group of Attorneys in the ConocoPhillips Houston Legal Department. Your responsibilities may include: * Managing attorney schedules and updating calendars * Meeting, planning and scheduling conference rooms, caterings, and teleconferences, etc. * Coordinating and facilitating meetings * Preparing and revising legal correspondence * Developing and/or maintaining legal files, records and documents in electronic and/or paper format * Copying and scanning documents * Coordinating travel arrangements * Preparing and processing travel and expense reports * Serve as an ambassador of ConocoPhillips Legal Department through managing incoming telephone calls, emails and/or instant messaging appropriately and professionally * Receiving, processing and distributing incoming/outgoing mail and facsimile transmissions * Other administrative duties as assigned by the legal work team and/or supervisor Basic/Required: * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee * Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination, or ConocoPhillips approved accommodation, required * 3+ years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant * Advanced proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Word Preferred: * Willing and able to assist with a variety of administrative tasks * Highly developed interpersonal skills * Excellent organizational skills * Strong focus on attention to detail * Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt quickly to change * Proficient knowledge of legal terminology and procedures associated with litigation, in particular the discovery process * Understanding of and ability to process transactional documents * Understanding and appreciation for working with highly sensitive and confidential information * Customer focused and service-oriented * Ability to work effectively in a team environment * Demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering results while maintaining a safe environment * Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals * Listens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results * Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals To be considered for this position you must complete the entire application process, which includes answering all prescreening questions and providing your eSignature on or before the requisition closing date of January 11, 2022.
