Legal Research Attorney - Employment Contract (Hybrid Schedule)

Primary Purpose:

Under the direction of an attorney carry out specialized legal research and writing assignments, and assisting with cases involving general liability, business and commercial litigation matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research on assigned points of procedural and substantive law.

• Draft written discovery, motions, briefs, prepare arguments and develop litigation strategies.

• Represent SDG&E in depositions and court hearings under the supervision of the Managing Attorney.

• Interview company and external witnesses and prepare witnesses to testify at deposition under the guidance and supervision of an experienced attorney.

• Assist the Managing Attorney on all aspects of litigation from the onset until settlement or verdict.

• Use computerized data bases in the execution of legal research assignments.

• Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
