Legal Operations Information Technology, Training and Communication: Supports the General Counsel and works under the supervision and direction of the Manager of Legal Operations, to provide high quality, proactive Information Technology, Training and Communications support with minimal supervision.

Information Technology and Systems -- Directs and coordinates the development, design and optimization of the assigned or new technical information systems platforms and/or system components, such as infrastructure or applications. Conducts and prepares feasibility studies for new data processing applications or revisions to existing systems.

Training and Communications - Develops and implement the Legal Department's strategic communications initiatives, e.g., newsletters, websites and presentations; ensures communications are meeting department needs; measures effectiveness and relevance. Supports educational programming in the Legal Department.

The Opportunity:

  • Directs and coordinates the development, design and optimization of the assigned or new technical information systems platforms and/or system components, such as infrastructure or applications.

  • Prepares systems/tool development cost estimates, budgets, and schedules. Prepares and presents project proposals to management and user departments.

  • Reviews current status of system applications and prepares recommendations for system improvements.

  • Selects, develops and evaluates tools to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

  • Train members of the Legal team to use and leverage Technology and Tools

  • Serve as point of contact for questions regarding Legal Department IT Technology and Tools.

  • Develop and update training materials, process manuals and job aids

  • Write, Design, Develop and Update/Maintain content on Legal Websites, TV Screens, Communications Campaigns, Legal Intranet

  • Responsible for developing and monitoring Training and Communications Plan and Calendar for Legal Department trainings for the Business.

  • Develop Web-based Training material/content, and Deliver Training

  • Use Graphic Design and writing skills to create Newsletters, and PowerPoint presentations

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent education and work experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience within the diagnostics industry or other relevant progressive experience

  • Advanced knowledge in an area of specialty as demonstrated through an advanced degree and/or in-depth technical experience in the support of laboratory clinical chemistry, immunology, information technology, molecular, tissue and/or automation systems

  • Proven leadership, coaching and mentoring skills

  • Ability to effectively utilize strategic thinking and innovative ideas to create and present long-term solutions in alignment with key business needs

  • Excellent written/oral communications and presentation skills

  • Ability to successfully develop, manage and drive results for complex projects and initiatives

  • Extensive knowledge of internal systems and business processes

  • Ability to foster and sustain strong interpersonal relationships with key internal, global and external stakeholders


  • 3 years' related IT discipline

  • Superior organizational and time-management skills

  • Must be computer literate and tech savvy. Interest in learning new digital tools and support systems.

  • Must have excellent graphic and written communication skills.

  • Experience in developing web-based training a plus.

  • Experience developing detailed IT and Communications/Training Plans.

  • Expert PowerPoint skills

  • Significant IT Experience using legal operations tools as well as legal research tools, such as Onit, Imanage, LexisNexis or Westlaw

  • Experience in Corporate Training and/or Corporate Communications

Essential Duties: * Provide day-to-day leadership and management to the HIT team to ensure milestones are met timely, cost effectively, and at a quality level that is adherent to Briljent standards, including providing direct reports professional and personal growth opportunities, feedback and coaching, support, and mentoring * Collaborate to review, refine and document PMO processes for use within the organization * Review operational scope within proposals, refining and adjusting as needed based on historical data and owning delivery metrics for all active projects * Identify the knowledge, skills and abilities required to execute HIT project scopes of work, and develop partnerships for capabilities outside the current skill sets. * Collaborate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the organization's service delivery, including resource forecasting and allocation and development of appropriate project management metrics * Participate in the high-level development of the HIT team's operations plans and programs, including growth strategies and process development * Provide oversight and support to Engagement Managers with clients as needed * Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on client service delivery and performance * Work cross-functionally to solve problems, mitigate risk, implement changes, analyze decisions and actions within project portfolio * Assist in driving the company to achieve and surpass profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives * Provide day-to-day leadership and management to the HIT team to ensure consistent use of project management tools for resourcing and project workload projections * Ability to manage client projects and provide expertise and knowledge as a billable resource when extra bandwidth is needed Requirements: * Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Health Information Technology or Health Administration, Information Systems, or related technical discipline; or equivalent combination of education, certifications and technical experience/knowledge * Project Management certification (PMP) preferred OR able to obtain within 6 months of hire. * Experience and expertise of Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act policies and practices. * Experience and expertise developing Implementation Advanced Planning Documents (IAPD) and State Medicaid Health Information Technology Plans (SMHP). * Technical expertise in health informatics including Health Information Exchanges (HIE) * Experience with managing a PMO within a professional service organization * Outstanding record of project management success, both in results achieved and in use of professional methodology and a strong and current awareness of external trends * Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards * Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus with the ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization * Decisive with "big picture" perspective and well versed in technology and systems implementations * Proven strong written and verbal communication skills * Very strong organizational skills Briljent will not discriminate against any employee or applicant on the basis of age, color, marital status, race, religion, veteran status, disability (in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act), sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin or other status as protected by applicable law.
