The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co is responsible for the provision of legal services to the Corporation and is organized by practice groups that generally align with the Corporation's lines of business and corporate staff areas. This structure encourages legal teams and businesses and staff areas to discuss legal, regulatory and business developments effectively and in a timely manner.

The Legal Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to join a legal specialist team dedicated to support the Auto business within the Consumer and Community Banking line of business. The Auto business includes retail and commercial services.

The Analyst will work closely with the legal staff in the Auto business to support diverse client needs from loan origination to servicing and must also be able to work independently to provide legal support to development and management of projects and programs within the Auto line of business. The Analyst will be responsible for routine tracking and maintenance of legal and regulatory changes that impact the Auto business and helping attorneys respond to client inquiries regarding application of laws and regulations.

This position requires a candidate with excellent oral and written communication skills, experience researching and summarizing federal and state regulatory requirements, and the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. The ideal candidate for this position has previous experience supporting consumer lending attorneys in a law firm, bank or finance company on both regulatory and transactional matters.

The preferred location for this position is Phoenix, AZ other hub locations may be considered for qualified candidates.

Qualifications:

  • At least an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience with 4+ years of experience providing legal support.

  • Communicate and liaise with business partners and internal departments regarding various projects, procedures, and processes

  • Manage responses to business partner inquiries from the legal team related to loan and lease originations

  • Monitor, research and summarize state and federal law applicable to the business

  • Prepare legal analysis and memoranda

  • Summarize agreements and other legal documents

  • Participating in cross-line of business initiatives and working with other legal teams across Consumer & Community Banking, as appropriate

  • Providing transactional support, including review and drafting loan and lease origination documents.

  • Update, manage, and maintain Practice Group files, reports, records, databases, inventories, and systems

  • Communicate and liaise with internal departments regarding various projects, procedures, and processes

  • Identify issues in projects and processes as they develop and escalate as needed

  • Set up and maintain document management practices in iManage

  • Assist with special projects as needed

  • All other duties as necessary or assigned in connection with legal support to the business

As the role is a hybrid of strategic, business and financial analysis, previous consulting, investment banking, and/or payments industry experience is a major plus.
