Collecting and analyzing legal due diligence documentation required to confirm capacity and authority of counterparties and customers to enter into transactions under agreements for trading or prime brokerage accounts.
Reviewing documents against checklists for dynamic counterparty types from numerous jurisdictions, and verifying all documents are received and are acceptable to satisfy legal due diligence requirements
Chasing for required due diligence documents as needed, both internally, through publicly available sources, and externally, with some client-facing interaction possible
Partnering and proactively working with many different groups to drive requests to completion and improve time to market efficiency
Storing all legal due diligence documents in proprietary storage system
Completing quality control checklists to verify requirements are met for legal due diligence and communicating diligence completion to internal partners
Coordinating with negotiators to ensure legal due diligence is acceptable and complete prior to execution of any agreement
Identifying areas of potential risk and process gaps and determining solutions. Understanding when blocking issues is appropriate

We are looking for a well-rounded, organized, and proactive individual who possesses the following skills and experience:
Experienced paralegal or legal assistant preferably with corporate or derivatives background from working in a law firm, corporate legal department, or financial institution.
Proven experience of at least 2-5 years' experience
Undergraduate degree strongly preferred with some coursework in law or paralegal major; law degree or paralegal certificate a plus
Competency in Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
Ability to learn new technology systems (Framesoft, Marna G, etc.)
Legal analysis skills and attention to detail
Highly motivated, willing to work in both team and independent situations depending on current workload, with flexibility to take things on not necessarily wholly within the written scope of the function
Communication skills: responsive, polite, clear, and succinct. Has confidence to work with senior partners and sensitive clients. Can communicate optimally in writing.
Highly organized, can handle multiple issues at a time, can work under pressure, and clearly communicate status to manager and partners
