The Global Banking & Markets (GBM) FICC Legal Associate position presents an opportunity for talented and motivated candidates with a keen interest in law and finance to work directly with the attorneys in FICC Legal, individuals in the FICC business lines we support and colleagues in other divisions.
ROLE OVERVIEW
GBM
For the Bank Loans Trading Business:
Negotiating and preparing confidentiality agreements and related documentation for the receipt and disclosure of confidential information for secondary banks loan trading
Coordinating with sales teams in the GBM Division and Operations teams regarding the receipt and/or disclosure of confidential information for secondary bank loans trading; communicating with clients and external parties regarding the same
Creating, maintaining and provisioning of access to virtual data rooms used to share confidential information with external clients for secondary bank loans trading
Reviewing and processing invoices relating to virtual data rooms created to support the secondary bank loans trading business
For the Structured Finance/Mortgages Business:
Responding to requests for corporate entity information and officer & director lists for various Goldman Sachs legal entities
Assisting with the preparation and execution of annual certification forms for applicable Government Sponsored Entities, as well as coordination of the related internal review process
Assisting with the review of bid qualification forms and coordinating the related internal back up diligence process for Mortgage Loan bids with certain Government Sponsored Entities
Assisting with the preparation and execution of various legal documents relating to the purchase and sale of Mortgage Loans
Coordinating the closing of transactions, including finalizing documents, obtaining signature pages from all parties and compiling and distributing fully executed documents
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of work experience
JD not required; Paralegal or similar support experience strongly preferred
Strong project management and organizational skills; accurate and detail-oriented
Ability to drive a task to completion by partnering across teams and navigating obstacles
Ability to balance multiple projects with varying deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and, at times, pressured environment
Team-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability; must be comfortable being independent and a self-starter
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $75000-$100000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
